VP Radhakrishnan Backs AIIMS for Mizoram's Healthcare Future

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan has pledged his backing for the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Mizoram, a long-standing demand from the state's opposition BJP party. This commitment was made during a recent meeting with a delegation led by BJP Mizoram state president Dr. K Beichhua at Lok Bhavan.
During the discussions, the delegation underscored the vital importance of a leading medical institution for the region's development, emphasizing its inclusion in BJP Mizoram's 2018 and 2023 Assembly election manifestos. In response, Radhakrishnan urged the state BJP leaders to submit a formal proposal to the Union Health Minister and assured them of his advocacy at the central government level.
Radhakrishnan also praised Mizoram's natural beauty and noted its impressive literacy rates. He highlighted the Bairabi-Sairang railway project as a significant driver of regional progress and emphasized the need to preserve the state's diverse cultural and religious identities while fostering economic growth.
