In the Haryana village of Chhainsa, seven recent deaths, including four linked to Hepatitis B, have put health officials on high alert. This alarming situation has forced the deployment of a health department team to initiate a thorough examination of the residents.

Authorities have tested over 400 individuals for symptoms of the infection, amid assertions from some villagers that the death toll could be higher, with young victims included. While four deaths are directly correlated to Hepatitis B, investigations continue into the remaining three deaths, with causes such as food poisoning and contaminated water under consideration.

The health department has initiated the collection of blood and other biological samples for comprehensive testing. In cases necessitating hospitalisation, patients have been transported to the civil hospital.
