Haryana's Health Leap: New Labs and Clean Street Food Initiatives
Haryana plans to set up eight food testing labs across the state, focusing on high-quality standards and faster, accessible testing services. The initiative includes 28 Mobile Food Testing Vans and modernization of existing labs. Clean Street Food Hubs are also being developed in select cities for hygienic food culture.

The Haryana government is set to enhance its food and drug safety systems by establishing eight state-of-the-art food testing laboratories. This will be implemented in phases across the state, as announced by a senior Health and Family Welfare Department official.
With Rs 53.21 crore sanctioned for regulatory upgrades in the NCR region, the initiative includes deploying 28 Mobile Food Testing Laboratory vans and upgrading the district lab in Karnal. These measures aim to ensure high food safety standards in Haryana.
Additionally, four cities—Ambala, Karnal, Hisar, and Gurugram—are chosen for Clean Street Food Hubs. The move, along with stringent drug enforcement, highlights Haryana's commitment to public health and consumer confidence.
