It will enhance emergency services with advanced facilities and provide better treatment for accident victims and critically ill patients. Additional improvements include facilities for faster diagnostics and a junior doctors' hostel.

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh revealed ambitious plans for a cutting-edge trauma centre in Patiala's Government Rajindra Hospital, intending to overhaul healthcare services in the region. The 256-bed facility, built at Rs 81.80 crore, promises significant improvements in emergency response and care for local and neighboring districts.
The centre will feature modern operation theatres, ICUs, and advanced diagnostic technology, aimed at providing seamless care for critical situations. A new centrally air-conditioned building will ensure that no patient is ever turned away due to infrastructure limitations, marking a major upgrade in healthcare accessibility and treatment efficacy.
To further streamline operations, a central facility centre will be developed, complete with a billing section and a mini laboratory, optimizing patient processing and diagnostic testing. Additionally, Rs 13.53 crore has been allocated for a residential hostel for junior doctors, enhancing their living conditions and supporting an improved healthcare service environment.
