In a groundbreaking development, the Chakradharpur divisional railway hospital in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district has issued Aadhaar numbers and birth certificates to newborns simultaneously. This marks a first for any railway hospital under the South Eastern Railway (SER) zone.
The initiative, driven by the collaborative efforts of the Chakradharpur divisional railway manager and various departments, including district administration and the postal and Aadhaar services, successfully facilitated the same-day enrollment for four babies born on Saturday.
Moving forward, officials from these departments will visit the hospital regularly, aiming to continue this streamlined process, thereby ensuring infants receive crucial identity and birth documentation promptly after birth.
