Scandal Erupts Over Medicine Destruction at Safipur CHC

A significant controversy has emerged in Safipur as health center staff allegedly burned essential medicines, including those not due to expire until 2026. The destruction, which took place on hospital grounds, included commonly prescribed drugs like paracetamol and antibiotics.

Responding swiftly to the situation, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Satyaprakash reassigned CHC in-charge Dr. Rajesh Verma and pharmacist Prem Shankar, pending further inquiries. An estimated 250 to 300 patients rely on the facility each day for treatment.

The incident has prompted scrutiny from health officials, who deem the act of burning medicines unacceptable. They have ensured a thorough investigation is underway, promising strict actions against any guilty parties.
