Tamil Nadu's Vigorous Battle Against Dengue
The Tamil Nadu government is actively working to control dengue, with initiatives that include 4,785 testing labs and over 24,000 healthcare workers. While dengue cases have affected 18,725 people this year, deaths have been reduced to nine. Efforts continue to prevent outbreaks during the monsoon season.

The Tamil Nadu government is intensifying efforts to curb the spread of dengue and prevent fatalities, according to Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma Subramanian. On Friday, he reassured the public that despite fears, dengue and malaria are under control in the state.
Tamil Nadu leads the nation with 4,785 labs dedicated to testing samples for dengue and malaria. This year alone, 2.52 lakh samples were tested, contributing significantly to controlling the dengue spread. More than 24,000 healthcare workers are actively involved in these efforts.
In a detailed review, Minister Subramanian highlighted that 18,725 dengue cases were reported, resulting in nine deaths. Urging precautionary measures, he emphasized immediate medical consultation for vulnerable groups like pregnant women, seniors, and children. The public health department is also enhancing awareness during the upcoming Northeast monsoon season, aiming to sustain the reduced outbreak levels.
