Tesla's European Comeback: Soaring Registrations and Sales Rebound
In March, Tesla saw a significant revival in Europe with new car registrations tripling in France and doubling in Nordic countries. After losing half of its market share in 2025, Tesla's introduction of new, affordable models has fueled a resurgence in sales across Europe.
New Tesla car registrations surged in France in March, as figures nearly reached a two-year-old record high. Nordic countries also registered a notable increase with data released on Wednesday indicating a revival in Tesla sales across Europe. This signals a strong recovery for the electric vehicle giant in a competitive market.
In France, Tesla saw a 203% spike in new registrations compared to the prior year, just falling short of the December 2023 record of 9,572 units. Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish markets similarly reported significant growth, with new registration numbers skyrocketing by 178%, 144%, and 96%, respectively.
Tesla attributes the end-of-quarter rush to the way cars are delivered to European markets. France recorded a Q1 growth of 108% in registrations, with Norway, Sweden, and Denmark also seeing substantial increases. Further registration data is expected from Italy, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
