In a move designed to reassure the nation, Lok Janshakti Party MP Arun Bharti lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent address in the Lok Sabha. During his speech, Modi delivered a comprehensive overview that effectively dispelled concerns about the potential repercussions of the West Asia conflict on India's energy security.
Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the challenges faced in ensuring the smooth passage of cargo ships through the crucial Strait of Hormuz, a result of the ongoing geopolitical turmoil. Highlighting the government's proactive measures, he assured the continued supply of petroleum, diesel, and LPG, emphasizing the importance of these efforts in maintaining stability.
Further, Modi detailed steps taken over the past decade to bolster India's strategic petroleum reserves, now exceeding 5.3 million metric tons, with plans to increase this capacity to over 6.5 million metric tons. He underscored the expansion of India's supplier base from 27 to 41 countries, fortifying the energy import strategy.
