Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Monday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the longest-serving head of an Indian government after surpassing former Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling's record of 8,930 days. In an interaction with the media, Paswan expressed pride in Modi's achievement and expressed hope for a continued tenure marked by service and dedication.
Paswan remarked, "It is a matter of happiness and pride not just for the PM but also his supporters that the PM has become a leader who has had the longest opportunity to serve the nation." He praised Modi's leadership and public service, noting the Prime Minister's unique position as the first leader born after Indian Independence to win three consecutive Lok Sabha elections in 2014, 2019, and 2024.
In addition to political accolades, Modi continues to lead globally in digital outreach. In March, he surpassed 30 million subscribers on YouTube, making him the most-followed world leader on the platform—ahead of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and U.S. president Donald Trump. Modi's digital presence further extends to Instagram, where he became the first world leader to reach 100 million followers.
