The Karkardooma Court on Friday instructed the state to ensure Tahir Hussain, an accused in the Delhi Riots case, undergoes a hernia surgery within 15 days while in custody. This directive emerged during an interim bail plea hearing on medical grounds.
Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai provided relief to the former AAP leader and MCD Councillor, emphasizing the need for state oversight post-surgery. The court's decision follows allegations of a larger conspiracy behind the 2020 North East Delhi riots involving multiple charge-sheeted individuals.
Hussain's bid for interim bail on health grounds was a focal point in court deliberations, but the surgery directive was conditional on his consent. Earlier bail applications were denied, reinforcing that the accusations against him are prima facie valid, complicating his legal battles under intense scrutiny.
