In a tragic accident at a construction site in southwest Delhi's Kapashera, a 45-year-old worker named Rajkumar succumbed to electrocution while his colleague was injured. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when a bamboo pole inadvertently contacted a high-tension electricity line, police reported.
Rajkumar and his colleague, Jhulan, were performing construction tasks on a multi-storeyed building when the accident occurred. According to police statements, Jhulan, working on the first floor, tried to pass a wooden bamboo pole to Rajkumar, who was on the second floor. This act inadvertently led the pole to touch a high-voltage power line, resulting in severe electrical shocks to both men.
Following the incident, both workers were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where Rajkumar unfortunately passed away due to his injuries. Jhulan remains hospitalized under medical care. The police have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to this unfortunate event.
