Domestic LPG bookings have rebounded to pre-war levels, marking a slow return to regular supply conditions despite ongoing geopolitical issues. However, supply restrictions remain tight for commercial consumers, including hotels, due to continued input disruptions from the West Asia conflict.

Prior to the conflict, over 33 crore domestic consumers averaged bookings of 55 lakh cylinders daily. The conflict, sparked by US and Israel's attacks on Iran, led to retaliations that closed the Strait of Hormuz, critical for Middle Eastern oil and gas exports, severely affecting India's LPG supply.

Panic buying sent domestic bookings soaring to 87.7 lakh by March 13 but has since calmed. Efforts by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, including prioritizing household supplies and boosting domestic production, have stabilized deliveries despite ongoing commercial shortages.
