The Central government on Tuesday assured the Bombay High Court that it is making all possible efforts both domestically and internationally to tackle the LPG shortage caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia. The assurance came during a hearing at the Nagpur bench regarding a petition filed by LPG distributors.

Six distributors had approached the court, claiming they were not receiving an adequate supply of domestic cooking gas cylinders and accused a private firm of failing to comply with the government's directive to prioritize domestic supply. In response, the court urged the government to adhere to existing policies regarding storage and distribution.

The Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta, told the court through a video conference that diplomatic negotiations were underway to secure India's LPG requirements and alleviate domestic hardships. The court disposed of the petition, expressing trust in the government's ongoing efforts to manage the crisis.
