Iran's oil production and exports have continued unabated despite recent military strikes by the United States, according to a statement from the parliamentary energy commission's spokesperson on Tuesday. Life on Kharg Island, Iran's principal oil export hub, remains unchanged.

Kharg Island accounts for 90% of Iran's oil shipments and stands as a key strategic location for the OPEC member's economy. The island was recently targeted by U.S. military strikes, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.

The spokesperson, quoted by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, reiterated Tehran's threat of dire consequences for any foreign attacks on Kharg Island. Such provocations, they warned, would lead to 'a greater humiliation than the Strait of Hormuz,' where Iran has previously restricted passage to certain foreign vessels.
