In a bid to bolster visitor safety in Goa, the state is set to install temporary floating jetties at six locations, state tourism minister Rohan Khaunte announced in the assembly on Thursday.
This strategic move is part of a broader initiative involving a new tender for a lifeguarding agency, enhancing the efficiency of rescue operations by allowing rapid deployment of jet skis.
Adjustments have been made to the proposal at two sites following feedback, and consultations with panchayats, fishing communities, and local MLAs are ongoing to refine the plans at other locations.
