U.S. Military Weighs Escort Strategies in Strait of Hormuz

The United States military is evaluating a comprehensive range of options should it be assigned the task of escorting ships through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
In a briefing with reporters on Tuesday, General Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, elaborated on the potential military strategies that may be employed.
"If tasked to escort, we'll look at the range of options to set the military conditions to be able to do that," Caine stated, indicating the preparedness of the U.S. military to respond to such a mission if required.
