The CSIR conducted a two-day national workshop on advanced agricultural technologies, aimed at improving soil health, in Kumarakom. The event, named 'Farm Data to Decisions: Workshop on Smart Agro-Technologies for Soil and Crop Health,' took place on March 5 and 6 at the Kerala Agricultural University's Regional Agricultural Research Station.
A central goal of the workshop, part of the Region Specific Smart Agro-Technologies for Soil and Plant Health (RSSA) mission, was to foster technology-driven transformation in Indian agriculture. This includes integrating precision agriculture, digital agronomy, and AI-driven decision support systems to promote sustainable and resource-efficient farming.
Dr. G K Patra and Dr. N Kalaiselvi highlighted the strategic importance of CSIR's mission in developing advanced technologies for farmers. The workshop featured live demonstrations of cutting-edge agriculture tools, aiming to accelerate deployment in the field through partnerships with agricultural institutions.
