In a decisive move against the drug epidemic, Kulgam Police have confiscated several immovable properties linked to Mohd Ashraf Khanday, a known drug peddler from Nipora, Kulgam. The seized assets include six shops, five godowns, one tin shed, and a plinth in Manigam village. This enforcement action was conducted under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, following an extensive legal process that identified these properties as illicit gains from drug trafficking.

The accused, embroiled in an FIR registered as No. 196/2024 under the NDPS Act's Sections 8 and 15, is alleged to have accrued approximately Rs 1.5 crore through illegal activities. This property attachment underscores Kulgam Police's relentless efforts to disrupt the financial networks facilitating drug trade and serves as a stern warning that crime will not be tolerated.

SSP Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary, IPS, reiterated the department's zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics offenses. He emphasized that individuals involved in drug peddling, financing, or aiding the narcotics trade would face severe repercussions, including property seizure and rigorous legal action. Choudhary also urged community collaboration in the fight against drugs to safeguard the youth and society from its damaging effects.
