In a significant achievement for the civil aviation industry, Gujarat has been distinguished with the 'Best State for Promotion of Aviation Ecosystem' award during the Wings India-2026 event, held at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad, from January 28 to 31. The award was presented by Union Minister for Civil Aviation Shri K. Ram Mohan Naidu, showcasing Gujarat's relentless progress in aviation infrastructure enhancement and robust policy support.
Aviation Commissioner KL Bachani highlighted that this accolade acknowledges Gujarat's exemplary performance in aviation-related infrastructure such as maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) facilities, and the burgeoning aircraft leasing sector. Alongside Gujarat, Telangana and Uttarakhand shared the accolade as joint winners in the same category. Bachani attributed this success to the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, focusing on transforming the state's aviation sector into a vital economic growth engine while expanding air connectivity for all citizens.
This latest award adds to Gujarat's accolades in the aviation sector, including honors received at Wings India events in previous years, underscoring its persistent excellence and commitment to creating top-tier aviation infrastructure. The recognition symbolizes the state's dedication to making air travel more accessible, setting a benchmark for others to emulate.
