The Madhya Pradesh state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has taken crucial steps towards regional development and welfare by approving multiple initiatives during a cabinet meeting held at Mantralaya in Bhopal on Tuesday. Key decisions include free registration of residential plots for families affected by the Sardar Sarovar Project in the Narmada Valley.

According to the outlined Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), fees for registration and stamp duty will be reimbursed by the Narmada Valley Development Authority. This decision is anticipated to benefit over 25,600 families while imposing an additional financial burden of Rs 600 crore on the government. Moreover, the Cabinet sanctioned two significant irrigation projects in the Maihar and Katni districts, amounting to a total expenditure of Rs 620.65 crore.

The Dhanwahi Micro Pressure Irrigation Project will provide irrigation facilities over 3,500 hectares, benefiting 2,810 farmers across nine villages. Additionally, the Barhi Micro Lift Irrigation Project will serve 11,500 farmers in 27 villages, covering an area of 20,000 hectares. Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a financial outlay exceeding Rs 15,009 crore for ongoing and new schemes across multiple departments from 2026-27 to 2030-31. These include substantial funding for the Chief Minister Jan Kalyan Scheme, Legislative Assembly projects, and animal husbandry initiatives, among others.
