Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced an ambitious goal for the state's solar power generation, targeting 3,500 MW by 2030. This announcement came during the inauguration of a 70 MW solar power plant in Khudigaon, indicating strong momentum towards a sustainable energy future.

The recent solar plant, a collaborative effort between SJVN Green Energy Limited and Assam Power Development Corporation Ltd, costs over Rs 350 crore and will significantly reduce carbon emissions.

Chief Minister Sarma detailed plans to reach 730 MW of solar power by April with additional projects in the pipeline. He emphasized the importance of using cleared lands for projects to avoid future encroachments, ensuring continued progress in renewable energy development.
