Unity in Diversity: 556th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Celebrated in Poonch

A remarkable display of unity and cultural celebration took place in Poonch as over 10,000 people gathered to mark the 556th Parkash Purab of Shree Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The celebrations attracted people from diverse faith backgrounds, including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, all joining hands to honor the revered Sikh Guru.
The festivities featured a grand Nagar Kirtan, which was organized at the Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha on the ITI Ground. Narinder Singh, the president of the district Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, expressed his pride in the communal harmony observed, underscoring how people of different religions came together for this auspicious occasion.
Harcharan Singh, Secretary of the District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, noted that children showcased their skills with traditional weapons, and langars were organized as part of the celebrations. Furthermore, the Pakistan High Commission issued over 2100 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India, allowing them to participate in further celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birth anniversary in Pakistan from November 4-13, 2025.
