In a tragic incident that has led to nationwide mourning, a fatal collision occurred near Chevella in Rangareddy district, Telangana, involving a TGSRTC bus and a gravel-laden lorry. The accident, which resulted in multiple fatalities, drew responses from political figures across the spectrum.
Expressing profound sorrow, former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the affected families. He deemed the accident as painful and extremely unfortunate while hoping for the swift recovery of those injured. Reddy also called for immediate action to prevent such tragic events in the future.
As the nation reels from the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs to the next of kin of each deceased from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund, and Rs. 50,000 for the injured individuals. The accident, which took the lives of at least 19 people including women and a child, is under investigation with authorities urging precautionary measures.
