Guwahati Schools to Lead the Charge in Pollution Abatement

The Assam Pollution Control Board, in collaboration with Aaranyak, has introduced an ambitious initiative named 'Pollution Abating Schools in Guwahati'. The project was officially launched in a workshop held at the APCB conference hall, focusing on promoting environmental education and sustainable practices among school students.
In his inaugural address, GK Misra, Member Secretary of the APCB, stressed the importance of civic engagement in environmental conservation. He indicated the potential for expanding this pilot initiative to more schools, marking a significant step forward in addressing pollution in Guwahati.
The initiative is part of the larger framework of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change's efforts to combat environmental pollution. Misra applauded the proactive interest shown by students, emphasizing simple yet effective actions to reduce pollution. He also noted Aaranyak's vital role in mentoring the youth towards ensuring ecological security in Northeast India.
