In a significant boost to India's global standing, Senior Advocate Pinky Anand has been appointed to the Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC), a move she describes as a testament to India's burgeoning influence as a global arbitration hub. Her appointment is widely seen as recognition of India's soft power, particularly its impressive cadre of women legal professionals.

Anand attributed this success to the Indian government's concerted efforts over the past decade to position India prominently on the global arbitration map. Her role at the BICC will be formally acknowledged at the King Hamad Lecture for Neutral Justice Ceremony and the international conference titled "The Future of International Commercial Courts: Towards Transnational Justice," scheduled for November 2025 in Manama, Bahrain.

The event is expected to draw legal luminaries including Chief Justice-designate of India, Justice Surya Kant, and Union Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal. Notably, Anand's appointment highlights international recognition of India's prowess in legal and arbitration fields, reinforcing India's emergence as a preferred destination for global dispute resolution.
