In a significant address at the Rural Postal Conference in Kevadia, Gujarat, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scandia, lauded rural postal workers as vital cogs in India's communication and trust machinery.
Scindia emphasized the unparalleled dedication of postal employees, describing them as the 'unbreakable link' between the government and citizens, ensuring service even in the most inaccessible regions. "They reach where roads don't go and are the compassion that brings smiles," he told the gathering, highlighting their role in major governmental schemes.
The minister revealed that over 27,000 rural postal workers in Gujarat handled 5.69 crore postal articles last year. With the Indian Post evolving into the nation’s largest digital inclusion network, future plans include launching a rapid delivery service to enhance reliability.
