Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd (CGCEL) announced on Friday its successful bid for a significant Rs 445.03 crore tender facilitated by the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP). The tender focuses on implementing solar rooftop systems for more than 40,000 houses.

The award is under the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna and aims to enhance the energy efficiency of homes with 2 KW on-grid systems. CGCEL's role encompasses design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation for five years.

This initiative specifically targets 38,699 SC & ST consumers, utilizing a utility-led aggregation model. Crompton Greaves anticipates a project completion timeline of about six months, enhancing solar infrastructure in the region significantly.
