In a solemn ceremony, the Tripura Frontier of the Border Security Force (BSF) observed Police Commemoration Day, paying homage to fallen heroes at its Frontier Headquarters in Salbagan, Agartala. Inspector General Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, along with all ranks of the BSF Tripura Frontier, honored the brave souls who gave their lives in the line of duty.

During the event, the Inspector General laid a wreath at the Smriti Sthal in memory of police personnel who served the nation with distinction. In his address, he read the names of 191 martyrs, which included 23 BSF personnel, and highlighted their exceptional courage and dedication. The day serves as a poignant reminder of 10 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who were killed in action against Chinese forces on October 21, 1959, at Hot Springs, Ladakh.

The commemoration not only recognized their supreme sacrifice but also reinforced the BSF's collective resolve to uphold their values. A press release noted that on October 17, Aloke Kumar Chakraborty took over as the Inspector General of Tripura Frontier, succeeding AK Sharma. Chakraborty, a highly decorated officer, brings extensive experience to his new role, having served on the Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Pakistan borders among other significant assignments. Under his leadership, the BSF Tripura Frontier is expected to continue its important role in ensuring peace and security along the Indo-Bangladesh International Border.
