Madhya Pradesh CM Leads Celebrations in Age-Old Govardhan Puja Rituals

On Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav led Govardhan Puja rituals at Tilkeshwar Gaushala in Ujjain district, where he worshipped cows and presented '56 bhog' to them. Yadav extended Diwali greetings to the public, highlighting the economic importance of cow protection and dairy development.
Through an X post, CM Yadav urged widespread cow protection and promotion to make Madhya Pradesh a significant milk production hub. The interconnection between humans, nature, and cows was underlined, adding that the state government would celebrate Govardhan Puja statewide.
Yadav told ANI about the state's agricultural roots linked to these traditions, underscoring governmental efforts to enhance animal husbandry and farmer prosperity. The festival, commemorating Lord Krishna's legendary protection of Vrindavana's residents, embraces both religious and economic facets, celebrating agricultural bounty and dairy prominence.
