From Red Corridors to Growth Hubs: India's Battle Against Naxalism

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced a promising decline in the areas affected by Left-Wing Extremism (LWE), indicating a significant triumph in transforming notorious 'Red Corridors' into vibrant growth hubs. He noted that regions formerly known as Naxalite hubs are now becoming centers of education, featuring infrastructure like roads, hospitals, schools, and colleges.

During a National Police Memorial event in the capital, Singh celebrated the vital roles played by police and security forces in achieving this transformation. Historically shaken by Naxalite terror, these areas now flourish due to the dedication and collaborative efforts of military and local administrations.

India's enduring campaign against Naxalism reached a crucial milestone, with government data showing a dramatic reduction in affected districts from 182 in 2014 to just 11 as of October 2025. The Ministry of Home Affairs predicts the complete dissolution of the infamous Red Corridor by March 31, 2026, emphasizing development over violence.
