In a show of growing cultural ties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung revealed plans for the India-Korea Friendship Festival in 2028. Announced during President Lee's first state visit to India, the festival aims to celebrate the long-standing historical and cultural connection between the two nations.

With Prime Minister Modi emphasizing the legendary tale of Princess Suriratna and King Kim Suro, both leaders acknowledged the ongoing popularity of Korean entertainment in India, particularly K-pop and K-dramas. President Lee, who is an admirer of Indian cinema, joined Modi in highlighting this cultural fusion.

The nations further cemented their cultural partnership by planning the establishment of the Mumbai Korea Centre, a venue dedicated to K-pop and Bollywood blending. Following extensive delegation-level talks, multiple MoUs were exchanged to strengthen bilateral ties, marking another significant step in diplomatic relations.
