Honoring Valor: JAKLI's Historic 78th Raising Day Celebration

In a significant event, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday unveiled the renovated War Memorial at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) centre. This marks the 78th Raising Day of the regiment, showcasing its long-standing dedication and service.
Abdullah expressed gratitude for the opportunity to inaugurate the memorial and praised the regiment's commitment to safety and excellence. 'I pray that they stay safe and continue their good work,' he stated amidst the ceremony at Rangreth near Old Airfield Srinagar.
The JAKLI regimental centre, originally founded on April 15, 1948, at Haft Chinar, was relocated to Rangreth in 1993. Known as one of the best training centres within the Indian Army, it emphasizes rigorous nine-month training programs that include field craft, weapon handling, and physical training.
