On Sunday, Christians across Kerala came together to celebrate Easter, an occasion symbolizing the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This marked the end of the 40-day Lenten observance, featuring solemn prayers and traditional feasts.
Devotees, including women and children, filled churches across the state for midnight and dawn masses. Special services were held in various denominations led by bishops and senior clergy delivering messages of hope, renewal, and spiritual awakening.
In Thiruvananthapuram, Archbishop Thomas J Netto officiated the midnight mass at St Joseph's Metropolitan Cathedral, while Cardinal Baselios Cleemis celebrated at St Mary's Cathedral. Cardinal Cleemis encouraged responsible voting in upcoming elections, and Archbishop Thattil urged for peace in West Asia.
