Now more than halfway to the moon, the Artemis II mission is set to break distance records with its historic lunar fly-around. The journey is a significant milestone for space exploration, pushing deeper into space than the legendary Apollo missions.

The mission involves four astronauts - three Americans and one Canadian - who will photograph the moon's mysterious far side. Jeremy Hansen, a Canadian astronaut, is making history as the first non-US citizen to embark on a lunar mission, celebrated by the Canadian Space Agency during a live televised linkup from Quebec.

The 10-day mission aims for a Pacific splashdown on April 10, marking the first step toward NASA's ambitious plans for establishing a sustainable moon base with eventual landings planned for 2028.
