Epic Unveiling: Ranbir Kapoor's Lord Rama Takes Center Stage
Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Lord Rama in Namit Malhotra's 'Ramayana' was revealed in a teaser. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the cinematic piece took seven years to create. The project aims to introduce this Indian epic globally, with filming underway for its two-part saga scheduled for 2026 and 2027 releases.

Ranbir Kapoor’s transformation into Lord Rama was unveiled in the first look of Namit Malhotra's ambitious 'Ramayana', a landmark in Indian cinema. Released on Hanuman Jayanti, the teaser presents a visual spectacle of Rama’s world, from battlefields to regal palaces, promising a grand cinematic experience.
Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the director lauded for 'Dangal', the film represents a seven-year labor of love. Featuring Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita, the movie draws on the powerhouse visual effects of DNEG, aiming for an authentic portrayal of the revered epic.
With music by Hans Zimmer and A R Rahman, 'Ramayana' is set for global release across Diwali 2026 and 2027. The production seeks to resonate with the Indian diaspora worldwide, sharing the cherished tale of Rama beyond borders.
