The case of renowned singer-composer Zubeen Garg's death remains tangled in controversy as proceedings continue in Assam. Despite Singapore Police concluding there was no foul play in Garg's September drowning, Assam's case pursues distinct allegations, with the charge sheet already filed before a Guwahati court.
Assam's Advocate General Devajit Saikia emphasized that Singapore's investigation will not affect the ongoing local court proceedings. A Special Investigation Team led by SDGP MP Gupta has conducted a thorough probe, scrutinizing events spanning several years related to the case.
The state asserts that the death of Garg, slated to perform at the North East India Festival, was murder, naming seven accused in the case. The opposing political parties continue to spotlight the 'mystery' due to divergent findings between Singapore and Assam authorities.
