Celebrated by the Tigala community, it honors Goddess Draupadi and features a priest, clad in female attire, balancing a floral pyramid on his head as he moves through the streets.
The festivities commenced on March 24 at the historic Sri Dharmaraya Swamy Temple, culminating in the grand Shaktyotsava procession. The event has prompted the Bengaluru Central City Corporation to enhance the festival experience with decorative lighting, pothole repairs, and cleanliness drives, ensuring a seamless celebration.
To accommodate the influx of festival-goers, traffic police have implemented road restrictions around the temple area. Thousands are expected to partake in the vibrant spectacle, a testament to the city's rich cultural tapestry and the enduring spirit of the Bengaluru Karaga.
