The Badri-Kedar Temple Committee announced that film actress Sara Ali Khan could access the Badrinath and Kedarnath temples by submitting an affidavit declaring her faith in Sanatan Dharma. BKTC chairman Hemant Dwivedi emphasized the requirement for non-Hindus to officially state their belief in Hindutva to be allowed entry.

Recently, the BKTC approved a ban on non-Sanatanis entering the temple complexes, forwarding this decision to the Uttarakhand government. The measure aims to ensure entry is limited to those who genuinely revere Sanatan Dharma, with a standardized affidavit format provided for compliance.

The announcement coincides with preparations for the Char Dham Yatra, starting April 19, with over 6 lakh devotees already registered. Key dates for the pilgrimage include the opening of the Kedarnath Dham's portal on April 22, and Badrinath Dham's on April 23.
