Bhonsle and her husband, both from artistic backgrounds, emphasized their respect for all religions. Her husband, a film industry professional, highlighted their marriage's legality, supporting her claims of being an adult through official documentation. The marriage ceremony at Nainar Temple in Poovar saw attendance from prominent Marxist party leaders. Despite initial opposition from Bhonsle’s family, the couple remains committed to their love, stating that Bhonsle intends to reside in Kerala post-marriage while continuing her film projects.
