In a surprising move, Canada-based York Cinemas has announced the invalidation of all advance tickets for the film 'Jana Nayagan' due to its delayed release, now unlikely before April 30. The cinema advised ticket holders to expedite refunds through their theatres.
The cinema's official communication on social media assured VIP membership holders of priority booking access once a new release date is confirmed. Previously, on February 12, VIP members were allowed to keep their tickets while others were encouraged to process refunds by Sunday.
'Jana Nayagan' faced delays due to certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification, including complaints alleging religious insensitivity and misuse of armed forces emblems. Despite legal attempts to expedite its release, producers opted to resolve the matter via the CBFC's 'Revising Committee'.
