Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has labeled the alleged ghee adulteration in the Tirupati laddu as the ''greatest sin against God'' and announced the formation of a one-man committee to address the issue. This follows a Special Investigation Team (SIT) report confirming the adulteration findings.

The Central Food Technological Research Institute's 2022 report had previously identified adulteration when the YSRCP was in power. After assuming the role of CM in 2024, Naidu's administration sent ghee samples to NDDB-CALF, which confirmed adulteration with animal fat. The SIT now points to adulteration with palmolein oil and chemicals, prompting proposed administrative actions.

The controversy has also touched on Naidu's personal and political beliefs, as he calls for rectification and transparency. The esteemed Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, custodian of the Venkateswara temple, plays a central role, as the case unfolds with a Special Investigation Team from the CBI actively probing the matter.
