Indonesian Tourism Targets Indian Market: Strategic Moves Unveiled
Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism is set to boost its presence in the Indian market through strategic initiatives including a Sales Mission in Chennai and participation in the Outbound Travel Mart in Mumbai. The goal is to attract 40,000 Indian tourists and achieve potential transactions worth IDR 48 billion.

The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia is taking bold steps to expand its reach in the Indian market. During a Sales Mission in Chennai and participation in the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in Mumbai, the ministry outlines its strategic plans.
Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Deputy for Marketing, announced that the ministry will showcase several Indonesian tourism stakeholders at the OTM in 2026, aiming for potential transactions of IDR 48 billion and 40,000 Indian tourist arrivals. This would surpass the IDR 40.7 billion achieved in 2024.
The ministry targets Chennai due to its demographic potential and increasing travel interest. With improved promotional efforts and stakeholder collaboration, the Indonesian tourism brand 'Wonderful Indonesia' seeks to solidify its influence in India.
