Shivajirao Muralidhar Kokate, father of former Maharashtra minister and Sinnar MLA Manikrao Kokate, passed away at the age of 93 after a brief illness, as confirmed by family sources on Wednesday.
A respected figure in the community, Shivajirao had served as the director of Kolpewadi Co-operative Sugar Factory in Nashik district. His leadership and legacy are cherished by his three sons, including Manikrao Kokate, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.
The community gathered to pay their respects during Shivajirao's last rites, conducted at Somthane in Sinnar taluka. Prominent attendees included State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, underscoring his impact and standing within the region.
