The 'Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon 2026', organized by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), will soon cruise through India's southern villages to strengthen national security and bolster the blue economy, officials revealed.

This flagship event's second edition is poised to amplify coastal security awareness and unify the nation. It will commence with a virtual launch by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on January 28 at New Delhi's Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

Inspector General S R Saravanan from CISF South Sector HQ in Chennai briefed reporters about the cyclists' ambitious journey from Bakkhali, West Bengal to Chennai by mid-February, underscoring the event's expansive reach and the significant role of women in it.
