CISF's 'Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon 2026': Riding for Security and Unity

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to spearhead the 'Vande Mataram Coastal Cyclothon 2026' this year, with a focus on national security and India's blue economy. Officials announced that the event aims to foster community interactions and awareness by halting overnight in select coastal villages.

The second edition of this ambitious event will be virtually inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, from the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi on January 28. The cyclists, comprising 130 CISF personnel, will journey 6,553 kilometers along India's coastline, with a significant percentage being women to inspire female recruitment.

The participating teams, starting from Bakkhali in West Bengal and Lakhpat Fort in Gujarat, will converge in Kochi, Kerala by February 22. Along the way, they aim to engage local communities, raising awareness on critical issues such as narcotics, arms smuggling, and human trafficking.
