Somnath Temple: A Testament to Resilience and Cultural Pride

The Somnath Temple in Gujarat powerfully symbolizes the enduring spirit of 'Sanatan Dharma', having withstood 16 assaults over the past 1,000 years. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during the inauguration of the 3rd International Kite Festival at Baansera Park, expressed that creators' strength surpasses that of destroyers.

Shah extended festive greetings for Makar Sankranti, emphasizing its agrarian roots, celebrated across various names such as Lohri, Bihu, Pongal, and Khichdi. He urged collaboration between the city government and the Delhi Development Authority to elevate the kite festival to international prominence, suggesting the formation of a committee to enhance the festival's reach.

Highlighting recent commemorations of the Somnath Swabhiman Parv, Shah stated that despite being plundered repeatedly, the temple stands magnificent. He credited post-Independence leaders for its reconstruction and called for a nation-wide celebration of its resilience and cultural significance throughout the coming year.
