The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set to host the country's first-ever Artificial Intelligence (AI) Film Festival and Hackathon in Goa from November 20-28. In collaboration with LTIMindtree and the National Film Development Corporation under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the festival aims to explore AI's transformative potential in filmmaking and storytelling.

According to a press release, the initiative will unite filmmakers, creators, and technology specialists to experiment with AI-driven tools and innovations. Festival Director Shekhar Kapur, who will preside over the AI Film Festival jury, emphasized the event's focus on leveraging technology to expand creative horizons.

Echoing Kapur’s sentiments, Sujay Sen, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Interactive Services at LTIMindtree, highlighted the collaboration's mission to foster creativity amidst technological advancements. The festival will feature AI-generated films across genres including fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental cinema, complemented by a 48-hour hackathon for developers to create novel AI-based filmmaking tools. Workshops and masterclasses on AI in film production and storytelling ethics are scheduled, with plans for international partnerships to enhance global collaboration and innovation. (ANI)
