Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced a significant expansion in youth sponsorship at the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS) in Dirang.

The state aims to increase its annual sponsorship from 200 to 400 trainees, providing them with professional adventure education and skill enhancement opportunities.

NIMAS, established under the Defence Ministry, is the sole Indian institute offering certified training in mountaineering, aero-adventure, and aqua-adventure sports, playing a vital role in promoting adventure tourism and high-altitude training.
