Marathwada's Tribute to Sardar Patel: 'Run for Unity' Marks National Unity Day
Latur and Nanded districts in Maharashtra's Marathwada region celebrated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 150th birth anniversary with 'Run for Unity' events. Students, police, and community members participated to honor Patel's role in India's unity, emphasizing the importance of national integration. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas has been celebrated since 2014 on October 31.

Latur and Nanded districts in central Maharashtra's Marathwada region organized 'Run for Unity' events on Friday. These events marked the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas nationwide.
In Latur, numerous students, police personnel, and members of social organizations participated enthusiastically in the run. Events were held at every police station across Latur, where participants pledged to uphold national unity.
Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe, a participant in Latur, said, "Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel laid the foundation of India's unity by integrating the nation." In neighboring Nanded, a run was held from Old Mondha to the Superintendent of Police's office.
